Volunteering at Reliance

Reliance Foundation believes in the power of collective action to drive meaningful social change. Guided by the We Care ethos, employees across the Reliance ecosystem contribute their time, skills and compassion to strengthen communities. From nurturing creativity in children to championing sustainability, volunteers continue to play a central role in shaping a more caring and inclusive society.

At the heart of this programme are Volunteer Champions — employees who take the lead in their neighbourhoods. They co-create volunteering programmes with community members, mobilise colleagues and help drive Rooted and Mission LiFE initiatives across India.

Volunteering in the Neighbourhood: Rooted

Rooted brings volunteering closer to where employees live. By engaging neighbourhood schools, old age homes and shelter homes, volunteers build sustained connections with community institutions located within their own residential areas.

Employees also contribute their specific skills to support children, youth and families. Activities include summer camps, digital learning sessions, personal safety awareness and skills-based engagements that help nurture confidence, learning and overall wellbeing.

A widely appreciated Rooted initiative is Kahani Kala Khushi, where volunteers use storytelling and creative arts to spark imagination and self-expression among children. These sessions introduce young learners to inspiring stories and encourage creativity through simple, meaningful interactions.

Volunteering for the Environment: Mission LiFE

Mission LiFE (Life For Environment) inspires volunteers to promote environmentally conscious living and encourage communities to adopt small but meaningful changes in their daily lives. Through neighbourhood engagements, volunteers help create awareness about sustainability, responsible consumption and mindful use of resources.

Large-scale participation is a key part of this effort. Volunteers come together for campaigns such as Swachhata Hi Seva, Earth Hour and other environment-focused activities, leading cleanliness drives, waste reduction actions and plantation efforts. These collective engagements bring people together and reinforce the importance of caring for the environment.
