Volunteerism for Response

Reliance Foundation's Disaster Management team has built a large pool of trained volunteers who play a critical role in disaster response. Drawn from subsidiaries across India, these volunteers form a rapid response force capable of providing timely assistance to affected communities during emergencies. Their local knowledge and proximity to disaster-prone areas enable swift, well-coordinated action, helping ensure that support reaches communities without delay.

By integrating volunteers into structured emergency response systems, Reliance Foundation strengthens surge capacity, reduces response time and enhances coordination with government agencies and partner organisations.

To further maximise the impact of volunteer engagement, Reliance Foundation is focusing on strengthening training programmes, developing deployment protocols and creating pre-positioned resources to support volunteers during emergencies. A digital volunteer management platform, developed in coordination with the Reliance Foundation Partnerships and Volunteering Team, will enable real-time mobilisation and coordination. Awareness campaigns and volunteer recognition efforts will continue to foster a strong and sustained culture of volunteerism.

Major Disaster Response

Reliance Foundation has extended support across multiple major disasters, including the Kerala Floods 2018, Cyclones Titli and Gaja (2018–19), Maharashtra Floods 2019, Cyclone Fani 2019, Assam Floods 2020, the nationwide COVID-19 response, Cyclone Amphan 2020, Cyclone Tauktae 2021 and Cyclone Yaas 2021.

Across these emergencies, Reliance Foundation has provided timely relief through the distribution of essential supplies such as food, clothing, hygiene materials and household items, supported restoration of livelihoods, offered healthcare support and information services, assisted vulnerable families in rebuilding efforts and worked closely with local authorities to ensure that aid reaches communities swiftly and effectively.
