As India grapples with an unprecedented new wave of the COVID pandemic, Reliance is making an all-out effort to save precious lives. The first phase of the proposed 1,000 bedded hospital, a 400-bed COVID-care facility at Jamnagar was e-inaugurated yesterday evening by Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Vijay Rupani and Reliance Industries Chairman Shri Mukesh Ambani. Also present at the inauguration were Agriculture Minister Shri RC Faldu; Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs & Cottage Industries Shri Dharmendrasinh Jadeja; Jamnagar Lok Sabha MP Smt. Poonamben Madam and other dignitaries. The 400-bedded COVID care facility has been set up at the Government Dental Hospital, which is an extension of Guru Govind Singh Hospital.
Under the supervision of CMD Shri Mukesh Ambani, Reliance is setting up a 1,000 bedded COVID care facility at Jamnagar which will cater to Jamnagar, Khambhalia, Dwarka, Porbandar and other regions of Saurashtra. This facility with continuous oxygen supply includes 35 ICU beds, which will be ramped up to 100 ICU beds. All the necessary infrastructure to run a COVID care facility is in place. There is oxygen supply network in 22 rooms for uninterrupted life support. There is an oxygen unit set-up of 30 kilo litre, which is capable of supplying 40 litres/min oxygen to each patient. This facility includes 60 doctors, 120 paramedics, 60 assistants/ward boys, 65 housekeeping staff and technical staff. There is continuous supply of water, electricity, oxygen and critical medical equipment setup including multipara monitor, defibrillator, infusion pumps, ABG Machine, ECG/X-Ray Units, etc. in this Covid care facility. All the patients will be provided treatment free of cost.
