Tamil Nadu Floods

November 2021

Numerous coastal districts in Tamil Nadu were hit
hard by torrential rains in November 2021, leading to
widespread flooding across the state. The downpour
was caused by a low-pressure system across Tamil
Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. Over 2.4 lakh people
benefited from Reliance Foundation’s heavy rainfall
warnings, agro-advisories and high wave alarms.
Reliance Foundation also provided guidance on crop
protection measures, government initiatives for crop
insurance and livestock care. Reliance Foundation
backed livestock camps treated 969 animals suffering
from post-flood disease and other afflictions.

Andhra Pradesh

and Telangana Floods

September 2021

Numerous coastal districts in Tamil Nadu were hit hit
Over 3.3 lakh people in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana
benefited from timely Reliance Foundation advisories
ahead of the floods there. This included heavy
rainfall alerts, weather-based agro-advisories, high
wave warnings and livestock care and
management guidance.
Through the year, Reliance Foundation took every
effort to deliver support and stay on post-disaster to
enable rebuilding of livelihoods, towards building more
resilient communities.
