“ I am a resident of Gir Somnath district, Veraval Taluka, working at the Bhidiya fish landing centre. I have
been associated with Reliance Foundation for the past few years. I am also a member of the Veraval fish
landing centre WhatsApp group and have participated in various marine fisheries field programs. We
received the Cyclone Tauktae forecast through the voice message service and the Reliance Foundation
Information Service WhatsApp group. Thanks to the warning, we did not send our boats out to sea and
recalled boats already at sea. This action has saved countless lives and livelihoods. We also moved our
boats and other equipment to safety, to avoid material damage during the cyclone. Reliance Foundation
has been a saviour, and we hope to continue receiving this invaluable support to guard us against
threats in the future too. “
