    ATHLETES

    The 100m sprinter DM Jayaram, who is an athlete at the
    Odisha Reliance Foundation High Performance Center,
    shone bright at various competitions over the year.
    In the U-18 100m sprint at the National Junior Athletics Championship
    in November 2022, he consolidated his status as India’s number one in the
    Under-18 100m rankings, as he won a gold and finished in 10.83 seconds.
    At the 5th Khelo India Youth Games in February 2023,
    he again bagged a gold in the 100m event, clocking 10.53 seconds.

    He surpassed his timing in the heats of 10.79 seconds and secured the top spot.

    When 14-year-old Tilottama Sen had a conversation with her father in 2020
    about shooting as a sport, her only achievement was that of shooting at a
    balloon-popping competition. Now, the teenager’s most recent achievement is a
    Bronze medal at the Senior Shooting World Cup 2023 in Cairo.
    This 10 m Air Rifle event also equalled the Junior world record
    at the 2022 Shooting World Championships.

    Another recipient of the scholarship is 15-year-old badminton player Unnati Hooda.
    The shuttler rose to fame when she won the women’s single event at the
    Odisha Open in 2022, becoming the youngest Indian to win a
    BWF Super 100 Title. She also made it to the Indian squad for the
    Senior Women’s Team World Championships (The Uber Cup).

    Jyothi Yarraji is India’s fastest athlete in hurdles who achieved
    this feat in the past one year. The 23-year-old has been training under
    coach James Hillier, the athletics director at Reliance Foundation
    High Performance in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. Jyothi also made her appearance
    at the Commonwealth Games last year in Birmingham. However, the journey
    has not been easy for the youngster. From being scared to go over
